Application deadline extended: FFJ Memorial Educational Support Scheme 2026/2027

Sheerahverenda

The Felix Fumnanaya Onyechefule Johnson Ibeanusi (FFJ) Memorial Educational Support Scheme announces an extension of the application deadline for the 2026/2027 academic year.

New application deadline: Thursday, 31 December 2026.

Eligible students are encouraged to take advantage of this extension and to submit their applications before the revised deadline. All other information, including eligibility requirements, application procedures and supporting documentation, remains as stated in the original call for applications.

Read the original call for applications (PDF) — it carries the full eligibility requirements, the application process and the supporting documents needed.

Because the new deadline falls after the date originally set for announcing successful applicants, the announcement of the 2026/2027 awards will now follow the close of applications. The date will be confirmed here and through the Church.

The essentials, in brief

For the 2026/2027 academic year the Scheme provides educational support for students preparing for Junior WAEC, SSCE/WAEC, and JAMB/UTME or its recognised equivalent.

Applicants are expected to be baptised members of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Oburo Ogwa, and indigenes of Oburo Umuokparanyanwu, Ogwa; to rank among the top three students in their class; to show good character, discipline and active participation in school or church life; to provide a recommendation letter from a teacher, pastor or community leader; and to demonstrate that they are unable to meet the cost of the examination forms. JAMB/UTME applicants should be in SS3 or recent secondary school graduates, and should state their intended course of study and preferred institutions.

Selected students receive full sponsorship towards the registration fee for the relevant examination, subject to the terms of the Scheme and the funds available, together with a modest study support package where applicable.

Application forms are available at the AME Zion Church Office, Oburo Ogwa. Completed forms and the required supporting documents must be submitted on or before Thursday, 31 December 2026.

The Felix Ibeanusi Family, in partnership with Sheerah Verenda Full Life Initiative, appreciates the community’s interest and encourages all eligible students to apply.
